Aurélie Wiedemann Aurélie Wiedemann

Aurelie Wiedemann is head of the Cellular Division at the VRI, where she leads innovative projects at the interface of basic and clinical research. She earned her PhD in Immunology in 2006 and is a recognized expert in T-cell responses and clinical trial immunomonitoring. Within VRI’s projects conducted in Africa, she has established laboratories and technology transfer and training of laboratory technicians   to perform on sites immunomionitoring of vaccine clinical trials and follow up of cohorts of patients including  Ebola survivors and. Her work focuses on characterizing the immune profile of vaccinated or infected individuals with emerging and re-emerging pathogens such as HIV, SARS-CoV-2, Ebola, and Mpox. She coordinates several national and international projects and serves as a work package leader in European projects, reinforcing VRI’s role as a key player in translational immunology.
