The VRI includes 150 researchers working on more than 40 international projects.
The ANRS consolidates, coordinates, drives, and funds all public research in France on AIDS and viral hepatitis B and C. This includes basic, clinical, vaccine, and social sciences research. The ANRS also develops such research in resource-limited countries particularly affected by these diseases.
From the outset, the ANRS has promoted multidisciplinarity and networks of researchers. As a research organization and funding body, the ANRS has great autonomy in its scientific policy-making and budget management.
